Mark Victor Hansen is an American inspirational and motivational speaker, trainer and author. He is known throughout the world as the founder and co-creator of The New York Times No. 1 best-selling "Chicken Soup for the Soul" book series, which Time magazine calls "the publishing phenomenon of the decade." With more than 60 million Chicken Soup for the Soul books sold in North America alone, the series currently has more than 65 titles and 80 million copies in print in more than 37 languages. According to USA Today, Mr. Hansen, along with his writing partner Jack Canfield, were the top-selling authors in the United States in 1997.
The Chicken Soup idea is just one of many that has propelled Mr. Hansen into a worldwide spotlight as one of the most dynamic and compelling personalities of our time. For more than 26 years he has focused solely on helping people in all walks of life reshape their personal vision of what's possible for themselves. From Bangladesh to Birmingham, Mr. Hansen's keynote messages of possibility, opportunity and action have helped create startling and powerful changes in more than 2 million people in 38 countries.
Mr. Hansen has made numerous appearances on television (Oprah, CNN, Eye to Eye and The Today Show) and in print (Time, US News and World Report, USA Today, The New York Times, Entrepreneur Magazine) with the motto "you can easily create the life you deserve."
He has been called one of the "Top 10 Greatest Motivational Speakers," and other motivational speakers such as Og Mandino, Zig Ziglar and Jim Rohn think of Mr. Hansen as one of the most "dynamic and meaningful speakers" of this age. Mr. Hansen was inducted into the highly acclaimed circle of Horatio Alger recipients because of the remarkable path of life he's created for himself.
In 2005, he co-wrote, along with Robert Allen, the book "Cracking the Millionaire Code," in which he highlights several self-made millionaires such as Bob Circosta, Michael Dell, Bill Gates, Alexander Graham Bell, Oprah Winfrey, and others, using them as examples of how to build wealth. The book was a BusinessWeek bestseller, but failed to match the vast sales success of his "Chicken Soup for the Soul" series.
Mr. Hansen's most recent book, co-authored with Art Linkletter, is "How to Make the Rest of your Life The Best of your Life." In it he explores the belief that in your Second Prime you can be more vital and alive at seventy than at forty.
